Growing Social Capital

1. Person 1 I had the opportunity to speak to a matchmaker from a company called “It’s Just Lunch”, her name is Abigail Warren.  She is fulfilling the Domain Expert Slot I found her by googling dating services near me, and calling the number on their website.  I talked to her under the guise of being a potential customer. I think in this way I was able to receive a lot of the information I needed without the pretense of me being a potential competitor. I think by gaining the knowledge that she gave me, I am able to better understand the market I would like to enter, and just get tips on how to choose people, and how to connect love matches.  Person 2 I had the opportunity to speak to a technical support expert from a popular website called “Match.com” his name was Julius Pascal. He is fulfilling the Marketing Expert position.  I found him by using google, I was able to contact him by email, and he responded with ample information, that I think would ...

Idea napkin #2

I unfortunately didn’t receive any feedback on my first idea napkin. As an entrepreneur I know that everything that I do isn’t going to become perfect on the first or the tenth try. Hopefully, on this second idea napkin, with a few minor changes, that I’ll be able to receive actual feedback. 1.  Who am I?  I am a second year psychology major with a minor in innovation. I am a Florida native, and I come from an extremely big family. I don’t really enjoy going out, I’d much rather stay in, and sleep, read, relax (by watching tv, going on social media, or listening to music.) I hope to one day become a criminal profiler, but I would also like to use my minor, and maybe have a small business on the side. I have limited experience when it comes to being an entrepreneur, and the business world. But the little experience I do have comes from my mom starting her own business when I was probably a freshman in high school. I don’t really know any details about the process, but I...

Elevator Pitch #2

Video link:  https://youtu.be/Bp1wM181Rk0 Feedback The feedback I relieved were not silly and outrageous. They were both spot on and insightful. I hope I was able to digest their feedback and produce it in my second elevator pitch. I enjoyed receiving their feedback because these are potential customers. As an entrepreneur I think it was a great way for us to get our feet wet, and see things from a different perspective. It was really impactful, because my business isn’t one that I want to be stuffy. I want it to be laid back cool, and from their feedback I know that I am not showing the culture in the best possible way. I needed to be more passionate and explain my business better. With all of this I’m provided an opportunity that not many other business owners are given. I hope you enjoy.

Customer Avatar

With my business, I am hoping to have diversity. I want my customers to come from many different walks of life. But if I had to choose a book it would have to be any Dr. Seuss books. Our childhood is supposed to be the place where we love without conditions, and most people have read Dr. Seuss books growing up. I think it would be awesome for them to be able to connect on a deeper level. They don’t have any specific favorite politician, but they are apart of the Democratic Party.  The age of my customers don’t matter. But, if I’m thinking realistically, with the type of business that I’m proposing to have, I would say the perfect customer would be around 25 years old. I say 25 because at that age no think people are most likely emotionally stable, and ready for marriage.I think my customers no matter their age will feel young. I say this because I believe that love is supposed to make you feel young, and happy. My customer I would like to be believe is financially stable, no mat...

Figuring out buyer behavior

Once again I have interviewed three people who would also fit the buying segment. But, instead of people solely focused on finding true love, I interviewed three single people who are open to the idea of love, just not quite ready to actually be in love. The first person I interviewed was my older sister, who recently turned 25. Being in her 20’s she wants to just have fun. She isn’t in any rush, and she believes that when the time is right love will come to find her. One thing she did mention was that if she were looking for love right now, she would definitely use my service. It’s a way for her to unwind, have fun, and still find someone to love her correctly. The next person I was able to interview was my language teacher, he is recently divorced, and has small children. His recent divorce is what is stopping him from looking for love, additionally he just doesn’t want to get back in the dating scene too fast. But, he understands that the dating scene is changing rapidly, he menti...
